Growing
in the Lord

Spiritual disciplines, bible reading, prayer, scripture memory, and journaling are ways we grow in the Lord.  We have complied tools online to help aid in this process.

"Spiritual disciplines are provided for our good, not our bondage.  They are privileges to be used, not duties to be performed."

The tools here include Bible reading plans, a HEAR journaling method, tips for interpreting and understanding the Bible, and free ebooks.  Physical copies are available at First Southern.

1 Timothy 4:7-8

"Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also the life to come."

Select a Reading Plan:

The F260 plan reads the majority of the Bible 5 days per week.

The reading plan for "busy believers".

The Whole Bible plan reads the entire Bible in a chronological order.

Below are helpful tips on how to have a "quiet time".  This is what is labeled as spending time with the Lord in the Bible and prayer.

It is not as hard as you think and it is always worth the effort.
