YOUR VALUABLES
We all have things that we value and the value we place on them varies by how much we value that item. We have things that are valuable enough to buy at one time but as time goes by it is less valuable and you can tell by the yard sales that it has happened to all of us. Things that we are willing to part with for a fraction of the original price that we paid for them are not very valuable to us anymore.
We show what our valuables are by the choices we make. What we put in the garage sale is what is not valuable and what we would never sell is valuable. But it is not just what we sell or keep that shows our values. What we choose to do and what we leave undone also shows our values. If you pass a house and the yard is green and neatly trimmed you know what they value. If you pass a house on Sunday morning and the people are doing yard work you immediately know their values.
The devil does not always try to get us to do bad things but to do good things in place of what God has told us to do. He wants us to treat him a little less valuable than some other good thing in our lives. But you do not have to be fooled because in his word and through our prayers he tells us what is the right thing to do. Ask God if your valuables are also his with regard to money, job, family, rest, and hobbies.
